A Big start to the year for Bangalow Creek Warmbloods

It has certainly been a busy and exciting start to the year.

In February the Hanoverian Classification Tour came to Bangalow Creek Warmbloods.  The guest classifier from Germany was Juergen Hermann Rump.  We showed our foals on the arena this year which looked beautiful, being bordered by the roses in bloom on three sides and the dam on the other.  Rosalinda was our best performed foal, receiving 8’s for both her walk and trot.

Then it was off to Victoria to buy a horse truck.  I was very excited to find a perfect truck.  It carries four horses and has a very nice living area with a sleeping area, shower and lots of storage.  The truck’s most important feature is that it has a very high roof which is fabulous for Raven, the largest horse I have ever met.  The truck is going to be excellent for travelling away to competitions and that is exactly what we did.....

We loaded the truck and headed back down to Victoria for Dressage with the Stars.  Raven was showing signs of getting a cold so we decided to leave him at home.  I think this might have paid off as I had a lot of time to focus on Just Dance.  He did an amazing job and finished 3rd.  He is now officially  the third best six year old dressage horse in the country.  JD is just an amazing competition horse, he does not get flustered, he focuses and tries really hard.  Now he did somehow manage to loose his amazing extended trot in the indoor, I think perhaps he was too busy looking at the crowds or concerned that the flags would fall on his head.  It was a great week, a great show and everybody was really friendly.  Hopefully Raven can get some good qualifying scores so we can come back next year.

The next big competition is the Sydney CDI.  Both JD and Raven have been accepted into the Young Horse Classes.  It will be an exciting and tiring week.  Alas the rain has set in again, hopefully it stops soon so we can get in some good training before we set off on the 1st May.
