A New Year Begins for Bangalow Creek Warmbloods

Our foaling season started in November with the arrival of Rosalinda, the beautiful Riverside filly out of Pepeliashka.  Rosie is showing some fabulous paces with big hock and knee action and a lovely big overtrack in the walk.  Peppa is now back in foal to Quando Quando, Kristy Oatley Nist’s Olympic Grand Prix horse.

Next to arrive was Sangria, a sensational Sandro Hit foal out of Willow.  Sangria has amazing uphill conformation, huge strides and some seriously big knee and hock action.  He is black and super cheeky.  Willow is hopefully in foal to Sir Donnerhall this season.

Last of the crop was Sanchia, arriving early January.  She is a very pretty little bay filly by Sandro Hit out of Dancer.  Alas, only three knee length socks but she has the sweetest face.  Dancer is to be put back in foal to the Swedish stallion, Ampere.

Just Dance and Ravenleigh finished 2011 with some great scores in the Young Horse Qualifiers.  We have decided to go to the Australian Young Horse Dressage Championships at “Dressage with the Stars” which is held in Werribee, Victoria in March.  This will be our first trip to Werribee and although a little daunting, it will be very exciting.  We will then follow up in late April with the NSW Young Horse Championships, held at the Sydney CDI.  After that we will focus our attention on getting some qualifying scores for the NSW State Dressage Championships and the National Dressage Championships.  Richmeed Wintergold will probably stay home this year while Katina works on getting the younger horses established, but our focus with Jack will be to get the one-times changes and the piaffe / passage established.

Katina successfully went for her MR truck licence last week, so hopefully we will be boasting the acquisition of a horse truck sometime in the future.

2012 will be an exciting year, we now just pray for a little fine weather.
